Joint TWDM testing provides valuable insights for vehicle testing and future applications
From August 18 to 28, 2026, AIP Automotive had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from Hyundai Motor Company in Korea and our partner E&S Korea to our facility in Haldenwang, Germany. The focus of the visit was the practical evaluation of our Torque Wheel Dynamometer (TWDM). Over the course of the visit, various vehicle tests were conducted to explore the capabilities of the test system under real-world conditions and assess its suitability for different testing requirements. A particular focus was placed on safety testing at Hyundai Motor Company. The objective was to evaluate how relevant Hyundai test procedures and different safety-related scenarios could be implemented and reproducibly performed using the TWDM. The testing provided an opportunity to demonstrate the system's capabilities based on concrete use cases and to assess them together with the customer.
Technical exchange on equal footing
Throughout the visit, AIP's commissioning engineers supported the test activities and provided comprehensive technical expertise on the TWDM and its capabilities. Beyond the practical testing itself, the intensive technical exchange provided valuable insights into Hyundai's testing procedures, requirements and evaluation criteria from an end-user perspective. For AIP, this direct exchange with experienced vehicle development and testing engineers is particularly valuable. The insights gained during the testing provide important input for the continuous development of the TWDM, helping us to further optimize the system and align its capabilities even more closely with current and future requirements in vehicle testing.

The visit once again demonstrated the value of direct collaboration between technology providers, partners and end users. Practical testing under real-world conditions not only allows the capabilities of a test system to be demonstrated, but also provides valuable insights into actual testing processes and future customer requirements.
